Much like the Japanese concept known as Ikigai that combines iki - “alive” or “life” – and gai – “benefit” or “worth”, MaRen Designs profiles women who know what gives their life worth, meaning, or purpose.

Our November newsletter features Amanda Gorman, the first of our Ladies First trailblazers. The youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history, Amanda Gorman was invited to read a new poem at the U.N. General Assembly this past September.
Appointed the first-ever National Youth Poet Laureate by Urban Word in 2017, Amanda Gorman is a cum laude graduate of Harvard University, as well as an award-winning writer. Delivering a poetry reading at Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration, Amanda Gorman was 22 years of age standing proudly in front of her nation.
